OPEN TO ALL MONROE COUNTY RESIDENTS.

NO COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL WASTE.

The only items that will be accepted at the Spring Hazardous Collection Event are listed below. DO NOT bring anything else – NO appliances*, NO electronics*, NO tires*, NO TV’s*, NO refrigerant-containing appliances*. NO household or construction waste or large items*.

*These items are to be brought during public waste hours*

Monday: 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Tues – Fri: 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

FIRST Saturday of the month: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

(Closed on holidays/holiday weekends)

Accepted items at NO charge: Households / Farms

Hazardous waste: up to 250 lbs. per vehicle of any combo of the following:

 

            Lawn & farm chemicals                      Household cleaners

Insect sprays                                       Small helium/LP tanks <20 lbs.

Oil based paints / thinners

**Latex paint will not be taken – dry it out and throw it out**                                            

           

               Medications:

                        Pills, liquids, inhalers

We will not accept the following:

  • Explosives (shotgun shells, fireworks, gunpowder, Picric acid, etc.)
  • Radioactive materials

 

Monroe County reserves the right to charge a fee for quantities of hazardous waste over household limits of 250lbs. Prices may be subject to change.
